Honest reflections of our beautiful and chaotic human experience.

The Illusion of Feeling Lost

Next time you feel a little lost, remind yourself that your inner compass never leaves you. That little needle that points in the direction of your heart will never fail.

What actually happens is, the place inside of you where your compass lives becomes cluttered. Uninvited opinions form thick clouds of dust, doubtful voices morph into crumpled up paper balls, fear turns into a pile of clothes you can’t seem to put away, and your compass gets buried in the mess of your chaos. You may feel like you have no sense of direction and look to external sources to lead the way. That will only create more distance between you and your trusty little guide.

Grab a broom instead. Figure out what you’re so worried about and shove it in the dustpan. Confront every piece of garbage and ask yourself how it got there. Take a bucket of hot water, filled to the brim with faith, and wash away anything that doesn’t serve you. Scrub the illusion of feeling lost. Leave nothing but love.

In love, there is clarity and confidence. Love lets the light in. It creates a warm space where opportunities are always welcome. It is open and inviting. And most importantly, love lets your compass shine, so you never forget that you know exactly where to go.
